Fresh off of her 41st consecutive start, junior women’s soccer team captain Sarah Teegarden is eager to turn the tide of the Wake Forest women’s soccer program. A 5-9-3 record last season left Teegarden and the rest of the squad wanting more, and though a 1-1-1 start to the 2015 season hasn’t been ideal, Teegarden is optimistic and determined to succeed in the 2015-16 season.
The second-year captain led the team in minutes in 2014 and has been a fixture in the midfield ever since she set foot in Spry Stadium. Her role as a holding midfielder and as a field leader is not only evident throughout the game, but crucial to the overall success of the Deacons.
