Wake Forest track and field led the way at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va., this past weekend.
Junior Kathleen Darling achieved a personal best time and placed second in her first attempt at the 10,000m run with a time of 34:42.32. Taking on 25 laps is no easy feat, but Darling felt prepared after practicing and setting specific goals with her coach in advance.
“Overall, I was very pleased with my first experience,” said Darling. “The best part about competing is when you are put in a great race, with great competition. There is nothing like looking down the line and knowing that you are racing against some of the best runners in the country.
