This fall, Wake Forest chose to put on a play titled, Our Town, by American playwright Thornton Wilder. It’s set from 1901-1913 and focuses on a fictional town, Grover’s Corners, and the lives of the people living there. It is comprised of three acts, each showing a different side of life in Grover’s Corners.
The main character is the Stagehand of the theatre, who speaks directly to the audience, narrating different scenes and providing setting to the audience. He is the link between the audience and the cast, calling characters forward to present them to the audience, and taking questions and comments from the audience.
