On Sept. 16, the university announced that it would begin offering certain undergraduate courses at the Innovation Quarter in downtown Winston-Salem.
This new hub of technology and medical research has received renowned praise for its use of dilapidated warehouses once occupied by the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and was even featured in the New York Times last spring.
The project has been a large aspect of the overall effort to revitalize the downtown area, along with the construction of Bailey Park and large swaths of new office space and apartments. Of all the construction projects currently underway at Wake Forest, the Innovation Quarter is the most exciting and offers the most opportunities for students.
