When it came time for Olivia Acuña to begin her college search, she had a pretty good idea of what she was looking for.
“I wanted to be in the south, I wanted one of the Power 5 Conferences, but I wanted a small school — so that immediately left me with three options,” Acuña said. “And I just stepped onto Wake Forest’s campus and I knew.”
Sports have played a very large role in Acuña’s time since arriving on campus.
“It was a balance between great sports and great academics,” she said. “I knew I wanted a small school because of the personal attention; I think you can make more of the experience if you have the opportunity to get to know the community and they get to know you.
