Cara Huskey was not always coming to Wake Forest. After all, her deposit was in at New York University.
At the urging of her mother, Joanne Huskey, however, she began to look for a school that could provide a more traditional college experience. Her father, diplomat James L. Huskey, who attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her high school guidance counselor, suggested Wake Forest could provide such an experience.
Once at Wake Forest, Husky became a leader in a variety of activities.
Huskey was a member of the Wake Forest Ethics Debate team — which won three North Carolina State Championships and competed in Nationals twice while she was on it — all four years at Wake Forest.
