3-star SG Richard Washington Jr. picks Wake Forest

Class of 2016 three-star shooting guard Richard Washington Jr., out of Walsingham Academy in Williams, Virginia, has committed to Wake Forest. Raphielle Johnson of NBC Sports’ College Basketball Talk reported Washington’s decision.

The timing of Washington’s commitment could not be better for the Demon Deacons, as current perimeter players Madison Jones and Codi Miller-McIntyre will be out of eligibility after the 2015-16 season, thus leaving a gaping hole. Combined with 2016 point man Brandon Childress, Washington should help fill that void.

Washington’s commitment is also a great get for head coach Danny Manning, who went 13-19 (5-13 ACC) in his first season with the team last season.
