The Virginia Tech Hokies continued to demonstrate a mastery over non-conference foes when they defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions, 64-55, during the third round of the WNIT.
VPI again dominated the first half of regulation, outscoring PSU, 37-21. Although Penn State outscored VT, 38-27, during the second half, the Nittany Lions were never able to get closer than nine points.
Chanette Hicks again led the Hokies in total points with 13, and added five steals. Four other Hokies contributed double digit scoring. Samantha Hill and Vanessa Panousis both contributed 12 points while Sidney Cook and Kendyl Brooks added 11 each.
