The Virginia Tech Hokies (1-1) travel across the state this week to face the Old Dominion Monarchs (0-2) in Norfolk. It’s Tech’s third trip to S.B. Ballard Stadium, with the two schools splitting those meetings. One of the most embarrassing moments from Justin Fuente’s six-year tenure came in 2018 when the Monarchs scored 49 points to beat the Hokies.
ODU began the season at South Carolina, almost pulling off the upset before falling 23-19 to Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks. Last week, the Monarchs lost another close one, this time at home, to East Carolina.
