Virginia Tech softball: Hokies remain hot, defeat N.C. State 10-2 in series opener

The Virginia Tech Hokies win again. The 11th-ranked softball team headed back out on the road on Friday night for the start of a three-game series in Raleigh against the N.C. State Wolfpack and came away with a 10-2 victory.

After throwing a gem against Liberty on Wednesday, senior pitcher Emma Lemley was back on the mound against the ‘Pack Friday and pitched five innings, allowing two runs, two hits, and struck out three batters, while walking four. The win improved Lemley’s record to 14-3.

Virginia Tech’s offense remains red-hot, as they jumped on the opponent early again, plating four runs in the top of the first inning and never looking back.
