The Virginia Tech Hokies finished third in the Wooden Legacy tournament today. The Hokies faced the Cornhuskers of Nebraska, and prevailed 66-53. The Hokies trailed at the half, 26-23, but simply dominated the second half. The Hokies outscored Nebraska 43-27 in the second frame, and finished the tournament with the bronze.
Zach LeDay paced the Hokies with 19 points and 9 boards. Ahmed Hill was the second leading scorer for the Hokies with 12. The ‘Huskers were cold from behind the arc, hitting an icy 19%, while the Hokies converted 44% of their home run balls. The Hokies had a slight edge on the glass, 38-37, but in the end it was too much Hokies.
