Virginia Tech legend Georgia Amoore selected in the first round of the WNBA draft

Georgia Amoore may not have spent her final collegiate season at Virginia Tech, but she’ll always be a Hokie. On Monday night, Amoore achieved a lifelong dream, being drafted by the Washington Mystics with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA draft.

I'm sorry, Georgia. There was no way you would get us to put up a picture of you in a Kentucky uniform for this story.

Amoore, a 5-foot-6 guard from Australia, played four seasons for the Hokies from 2020-24, becoming a school legend along with Elizabeth Kitley. The duo helped raise Virginia Tech basketball to national prominence.
