The Game was Supposed to be Close
The odds makers had set the game at -7.5 for the Hokies with a 49.5 Over/Under. That’s not a whole lot of points between the teams, and certainly not a ton of points up for the teams combined given their offensive capabilities. The feeling going into the contest was exactly that, too. Nobody was fooling anybody if a big booster came into the half break pumping fists and expecting a shutout.
