Virginia Tech Hokies Lead the Miami Hurricanes 24-17 at the Half

Okay folks, Cam Ward might be good, and Miami might have purchased a high-powered team, but it still has to perform against an opponent each week, and frankly, Virginia Tech is its first opponent that has, at least, a remote chance to win the game. Florida is horrid this season, and the Canes other three opponents are lower level G5 teams with sketchy records.

The upshot is that Virginia Tech seemed to head to Miami with something of an attitude. The Hokies actually won the toss for a change and deferred to the 2nd half. Miami received the first kickoff with a touchback and looked like they were going to methodically grind Tech into an opening drive Hurricane touchdown.
