There might have been a measure of grace doled out on Tuesday May 16th because with the Hokies down 2-1 after 2 innings the heavens opened up and the rain washed out any hope of finishing the game that evening. The visiting JMU Dukes didn’t get to try for a sweep of the 2-game home and home, and the Hokies will have to wait for any measure of balance until the next time these two teams play.
Maybe that episode was a harbinger, and maybe the huge non-conference peak of the GMU blowout and the Ohio sweep was notice that the Hokies were pretty much done for the season, and it was just going to be a downhill side from there.
