Well, there could be a third story. The Orange were just not missing much from outside the arc. If you hadn’t noticed, 87 points is still biscuits, and was normally enough to win a game by a good margin, but the Hokies were missing a very critical player on defense, Rose Micheaux was out (no reason given) which means the Hokies didn’t have one of their critical inside defenders that would allow for a closer outside defense.
