When Virginia Tech signed offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw in the 2017 recruiting class, no one believed that one day he’d become the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history.
That’s precisely what happened on Tuesday when the Minnesota Vikings and Darrisaw agreed to a four-year extension worth $113 million, with $77 million guaranteed. Not bad for a former two-star recruit with one FBS offer — Virginia Tech.
Darrisaw, who played high school football at Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, Md., spent his first year at Fork Union Military Academy. In 2018, he enrolled at Virginia Tech and became the starting left tackle almost from the moment he arrived.
