It’s been a busy month for the Virginia Tech Hokies on the recruiting trail, and that continued on Monday when three-star offensive tackle Johnny Garrett announced his future intentions.
Garrett, a 6-foot-5, 265-pound offensive tackle from Boston College High in Scituate, Massachusetts, chose the Hokies over Boston College. Garrett was in Blacksburg over the weekend on his official visit after receiving an official offer earlier this month.
The most interesting aspect of Garrett’s recruitment is how the Hokies land an offensive lineman from Massachusetts who had an offer from B.C. Traditionally, the Eagles recruit well in trenches and, under second-year coach Jeff Hafley, are recruiting better overall the last two cycles.
