Virginia Tech’s big recruiting weekend got off to a great start Thursday when defensive tackle Christian Evans announced he was committing to the Hokies.

Evans is a 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive tackle from Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Va. Stone Bridge is one of Virginia’s powerhouses and a big pickup for the Hokies. Evans joins his high school teammate, redshirt freshman tight end Zeke Wimbush, on VT’s roster.
Evans chose the Hokies over his other finalists, Oklahoma and North Carolina.
