The Virginia Tech Hokies went back into the state of Texas on Saturday and picked up a commitment from three-star offensive lineman Canon Boone.
The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Boone plays his high school football at Dickinson High in Dickinson, Texas, and picked the Hokies over Mississippi State and Colorado, among others.
Boone is the second member of the 2021 class from the state of Texas, joining wide receiver Da’Wain Lofton. Just like Lofton, Boone’s other finalist was Mississippi State.
Boone is much like Virginia Tech’s two other offensive line recruits, Danijel Miletic and Bryce Goodner, in the sense that he may a bit undervalued by other Power Five schools.
