It was announced today that long time Virginia Tech Linebacker’s coach Charley Wiles will remain at his position on Justin Fuente’s staff. Wiles started under Coach Beamer in 1996 and has been an effective coworker with Bud Foster. When new head coaches come into a program, quite often there are significant assistant coaching changes that occur as the new Head figures out who he wants to work with. A lot of guys will clean-house, bringing in some of their old assistants, or going elsewhere to bring in a fresh, new look. As bad as Tech may need a fresh, new look to kick-start them back into national relevancy, the offense surely needs it more than the defense.
