The Virginia Tech Hokies (1-1) lead the Old Dominion Monarchs (0-2) 14-10 at halftime of Saturday’s game in Norfolk. It was a tale of two quarters for Tech, which led 14-0 going into the second quarter.
The Hokies moved down the field easily on their first drive behind the combination of quarterback Kyron Drones and wide receiver Jaylin Lane. Drones found Lane for a 25-yard touchdown to give Virginia Tech an early 7-0 lead.
Tech’s defense held the Monarchs to one first down, leading to a punt. Drones and the offense started their second drive at the 20-yard line.
