A good week got better on Friday for the Virginia Tech Hokies when in-state running back Jeff Overton announced his commitment to the Hokies. Overton was Virginia Tech’s top running back target, and he became the sixth commitment in the previous eight days for the Hokies.
The 5-foot-10.5, 192-pound Overton from Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria, Va., and is the No. 22 player in Virginia for 2025, according to 247Sports. Overton previously played at Freedom High in Woodbridge before transferring earlier this year to play for his uncle, who is the head coach.
