The Virginia Tech Hokies defeated the Rhode Island Rams 34-17 on Saturday afternoon at Lane Stadium to improve to 4-2 on the season. This was sophomore quarterback Hendon Hooker’s second career start for Virginia Tech and he was terrific. Hooker completed 16 of 27 passes for 261 yards and three scores. He had a few passes that went off the fingertips of his receivers. Damon Hazelton is a difference maker, eventually some of those barely missed or dropped flag routes are going to get hit. The rust might have been affecting Hazelton’s fingers and timing a bit.
