The Virginia Tech Hokies defeated the Old Dominion Monarchs 31-17 on Saturday to improve to 1-1 on the season. In a game that featured the return of Eric Kumah and Chris Cunningham to Blacksburg, the Hokies were always in control of this game, although it certainly wasn’t pretty.
Ryan Willis completed 16 of 28 passes for 272 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He ran the ball eight times for 34 yards and another score. However, in the fourth quarter after a run of 13 yards, Willis was tackled hard and fumbled, giving the ball to Old Dominion around midfield.
