Virginia Tech lost two out of their top three receivers to the NFL from the 2016-17 roster, with Isaiah Ford and Bucky Hodges moving on to the NFL. While the Hokies are returning Cam Phillips, C.J. Carroll, and Chris Cunningham as pass catchers heading into the fall, the offense was still in need of additional veteran receivers on the roster for next season.
On Thursday evening, the coaching staff found their guy to add to the depth outside, as Ohio State graduate transfer James Clark agreed to join the Hokies for his final season of eligibility. The news of Clark’s transfer was first reported by The Daytona Beach News-Journal.
