Spring football is over for the Virginia Tech Hokies, as the defense defeated the offense 50-21 to end the spring session.
New Virginia Tech defense coordinator Sam Siefkes’ unit scored two touchdowns in the first quarter and really never looked back. Linebacker George Balance kicked off scoring with a 22-yard fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown. Shortly after, cornerback Dante Lovett intercepted a pass and returned it 38 yards for a touchdown.
Virginia Tech’s scoring system for the spring game favors the defense, with three-and-outs, turnovers, sacks, tackles, and touchdowns all equaling points for the defense.
