Virginia Tech senior defensive Antwaun Powell-Ryland had the game of his life in Saturday’s 37-17 win over Old Dominion. The Portsmouth native finished the game with seven tackles, including four for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
It’s rare that a college football player has four sacks in one game, but for Powell-Ryland to do it twice is historic. It was the second time he’s done that in a Virginia Tech uniform. In a win over Wake Forest last October, Powell-Ryland had four sacks against the Demon Deacons. Before that game, only two Hokies ever had four sacks in one game.
