When Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente met with the local media last week to preview spring practice, one of the topics discussed was the status of redshirt freshman Caleb Farley. Farley, a prized freshman from Hickory, North Carolina, tore his ACL at the beginning of fall camp in August. Farley was lost for the season and headed for a redshirt season.
Farley came to Blacksburg as a supreme athlete who could stick on either side of the football. It was expected he would begin his career as a defensive back, however, the team announced last summer Farley would play receiver as the Hokies lacked experience and depth at the position.
