BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team fell to Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon 59-48 in Cassell Coliseum.
The Hokies trailed just 51-48 with 3:40 remaining in the game after a Sidney Cook jumper but Pittsburgh was able to extend their lead on an Asyia Bugg jumper to make it 53-48. Tech would intentionally foul but the Panthers made six crucial free throws down the stretch to hold on for the victory.
“Obviously it was a very bad game on our part,” head coach Dennis Wolff said. “You have to credit Pitt.
