The Virginia Tech men’s soccer squad answered their disappointing 2OT season opening home loss with a dominant away win over the Cincinnati Bearcats, 5-1. With the win, the Hokies improve to 1-1, while the previously undefeated Bearcats drop to 2-1.
Virginia Tech opened quickly with a Daniel Lauretano goal off a Merlin Baus corner kick just 90 seconds into the match. The Bearcats answered six minutes later with their only score of the game. Ricardo John and Ousmane Sanogo both had first half goals putting the score 3-1 at the start of the second period.
