The No. 23 Virginia Tech Hokies improved to 3-1 on the season with a resounding 40-14 win over the Boston College Eagles on Saturday night.
In his first start of the season, quarterback Hendon Hooker put on a show.
The junior from Greensboro, N.C., completed 11 of 15 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. However, it was Hooker’s legs that were the story. He carried the ball 18 times for 164 yards and three touchdowns. Several of his runs were highlight-reel worthy as Hooker showed speed, power and elusiveness.
Hooker was so good that he overshadowed another superb performance from running back Khalil Herbert.
