We are right in the middle of football season, so it’s easy to forget that basketball is right around the corner. The Virginia Tech Hokies are set to host the Boston College Eagles in front of a sold-out Lane Stadium on Thursday night. Meanwhile, men’s and women’s teams are preparing for their new season in a few short weeks.
Both programs underwent a massive change this offseason. Former women’s coach Kenny Brooks surprisingly left for Kentucky and took several of his players and recruits with him. The most significant departure was legendary guard Georgia Amoore, who will play her final collegiate season for the Wildcats.
