So much for the Virginia Tech Hokies finishing the regular season with a .500 record in ACC play. The North Carolina Tar Heels blew out the Hokies 91-59 on Tuesday night at Cassell Coliseum in Virginia Tech’s final home game of the season.
The Tar Heels jumped on Tech at around the seven-minute mark of the first half. After VT freshman Tyler Johnson made two free throws to give the Hokies a 23-21 lead, UNC outscored Tech 25-6 over the final seven minutes of the half.
The Tar Heels began the second half much like they finished the first 20 minutes — and they never looked back.
