The Virginia Tech men’s basketball team made their first big addition of the offseason when they landed a starting center for the 2021-22 season on Wednesday.
Michael Durr is a 7-foot-0, 250-pound center who played his first three seasons with the South Florida Bulls. In 2020-21, averaged 8.8 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. He can slide into Virginia Tech’s lineup with Justyn Mutts and Keve Aluma in the frontcourt.
Durr played his high school basketball at Victory Rock Prep in Atlanta.
Virginia Tech head coach Mike Young has been active in the NCAA transfer portal, in search of a big man.
