The Virginia Tech Hokies won their fourth consecutive game Thursday with a 77-55 win over American University to improve to 9-3 on the season.
Junior point guard Sean Pedulla missed his second game out of the last three, and freshman Brandon Rechsteiner replaced him in the lineup. Rechsteiner delivered, dishing out a career-high 11 assists in 30 minutes of action.
However, the big story of the night was senior center Lynn Kidd. Kidd scored a career-high 31 points and also led the Hokies with 11 rebounds. Kidd’s 31 points came on a 14 of 15 performance from the field.
