For the first time since becoming Virginia Tech’s head coach in 2019, Mike Young will not have Hunter Cattoor on the team when the Hokies begin the 2024-25 season in November.
Cattoor departed Blacksburg after averaging a career-high 13.5 points per game last season. Cattoor averaged at least 10 PPG in each of his final three seasons.
While the Hokies will look completely different next season, Cattoor could be busy. On Friday, the 6-foot-3 guard from Orlando signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers summer league team. No, Cattoor isn’t signed to Cleveland’s roster, but playing in the summer league is terrific exposure that could help him land with the Cavaliers during the season, or with another team.
