Can the Virginia Tech Hokies get to .500 in ACC play? On Saturday, Tech came one game closer to achieving that goal, defeating the Syracuse Orange 101-95 in overtime from Cassell Coliseum.
Once again, head coach Mike Young received significant contributions from his bench, but Saturday’s lineup looked different. Sophomore guard Brandon Rechsteiner was back in the starting lineup, with freshman Ben Hammond coming off the bench. Sophomore guard Jaden Schutt, who has struggled recently, came off the bench with surging sophomore Jaydon Young, one of the ACC’s hottest players, replacing him.
Rechsteiner didn’t score against Syracuse after coming off a career game earlier in the week.
