Virginia Tech basketball: Hokies rally for 65-63 win at Notre Dame

The Virginia Tech Hokies picked up a big road win on Saturday, rallying for a 65-63 victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend, Indiana.

Virginia Tech scored the game’s first points after junior forward Tobi Lawal’s dunk to give the Hokies a 2-0 lead. We didn’t know, but that would be VT’s last lead for a while — more on that later.

After Lawal’s bucket, Notre Dame scored six straight points until senior forward Mylyjael Poteat’s bucket four minutes into the game. The Hokies would go scoreless for the next six minutes, with the Fighting Irish outscoring them 12-0 to open up an 18-4 lead.
