The South Carolina Gamecocks have defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies on the hardwood for the second consecutive season. In the Fort Myers Tip-Off consolation game, the Gamecocks outlasted the Hokies, 70-60, handing Tech its fourth consecutive loss.
The Hokies showed some hope in Monday night’s loss to Michigan, going toe-to-toe with the Wolverines in the first half, but they fell apart in the second half. The Hokies struggled to put the ball in the basket and again committed a high number of turnovers.
Wednesday’s game against USC was almost a reversal. Tech struggled in the first half, shooting 36% from the floor, before heating up toward the end.
