The Virginia Tech Hokies fell to 5-7 on the season after Saturday’s 82-62 loss to the Saint Joseph’s Hawks.
This was a competitive game through the first 20 minutes, as Saint Joseph’s held a 32-30 halftime lead. The first half featured two big runs, a 15-2 run by the Hawks, countered with a 15-0 run by the Hokies.
The two teams were rather even from the field in the first half, too. Saint Joseph’s shot 42% from the field, while the Hokies shot 43% from the field.
In a change for Virginia Tech, sophomore guard Brandon Rechsteiner came off the bench, while true freshman Ben Hammon started at point guard.
