Virginia Tech basketball: Hokies drop heartbreaker at Louisville

The No. 19 Virginia Tech Hokies traveled to Louisville to face a team they haven’t defeated o the hardwood since the two schools were Metro Conference rivals back in 1991.

Things started well for the Hokies as they jumped out to an 11-0 lead, and it looked like Mike Young’s squad was finally going to solve Louisville.

Unfortunately, Tech went cold from the field, and Louisville got hot. The Hokies would go scoreless for the next eight minutes, allowing the Cardinals to build a lead. Eventually, Louisville would go into halftime with a 36-31 lead.

The Cardinals came out hot in the second half, going on an 11-2 run and building their lead to 14 points.
