Virginia Tech junior forward Tobi Lawal scored on a dunk one minute and 11 seconds into Wednesday’s game against Florida State to put the Hokies ahead 2-0. Tech would never trail again, defeating the Seminoles 76-66 in Tallahassee. The win was head coach Mike Young’s 400th career victory.
Sure, FSU would tie the score 2-2 when Taylor Bol Bowen made a jumper, but the Hokies would follow that up by scoring 10 consecutive points to take a 12-2 lead. The ‘Noles scored five in a row, but VT had multiple answers, as sophomore guards Jaydon Young and Brandon Rechsteiner to put the Hokies back up by 11.
