The Virginia Tech Hokies looked like they were about to pick up their most impressive win of the season on Wednesday night in Blacksburg against the SMU Mustangs. Unfortunately for VT, SMU held off the Hokies for an 81-75 victory.
The Hokies and Mustangs went into intermission tied at 35. Coming out of halftime, the two teams exchanged leads at least seven times until SMU guard Chuck Harris drilled a 3-pointer with just under six minutes remaining in the game. The Mustangs never looked back, picking up a tough ACC road win.
After Cross’ made his shot, it looked like Tech had run out of gas.
