Don’t look now, but the Virginia Tech Hokies are playing well. The Hokies defeated the N.C. State Wolfpack 79-76 on Wednesday in Blacksburg to improve to 8-9 and 3-3 in ACC play.
For a while, it looked like it would be another disappointing loss for the Hokies, who trailed 45-34 at halftime. Things appeared even more bleak when State guard Jayden Taylor sank a 3-pointer with 13:29 remaining to give the Wolfpack a 60-45 lead.
But the Hokies cut it to six points over the next three minutes. However, just as it appeared that Virginia Tech was back in the game, the Pack quickly went back up by 13 points.
