The Virginia Tech Hokies men’s basketball team kicked off the 2024-25 campaign on Monday night with an 83-60 win over the Delaware State Hornets from Cassell Coliseum.
It wasn’t easy, as Delaware State was within eight points at halftime, 40-32. But the new-look Hokies turned it up in the second half, led by 6-foot-8 forward Tobi Lawal. The super-athletic VCU transfer finished with a team-high 23 points and eight rebounds.
