The Virginia Tech Hokies were back on the hardwood Monday night, this time in Fort Myers, Fla., for the Fort Myers Tip-Off against perennial Big Ten contender, the Michigan Wolverines. It was Tech’s second Big Ten opponent of the young season, and unfortunately, the Hokies fell short again, falling 75-63 to the Wolverines.
For about 30 minutes, this was a solid, competitive game. Unfortunately for Virginia Tech, its lack of depth, specifically at certain positions, proved too much to overcome. The Hokies led for over half of the first 20 minutes before Michigan went into intermission clinging to a 34-33 lead.
