The Virginia Tech Hokies are set to renew their longstanding rivalry with the West Virginia Mountaineers when the 2017 season opens in September.
Late last week, both schools announced that the tilt between the old Big East foes was moved from Saturday, September 2nd, to Sunday, September 3rd at 7:30 PM from FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland. The primetime tilt between the Hokes and the Mountaineers will be televised on ABC.
The meeting in September will be the first time that the Hokies have squared off against West Virginia since the 2005 season when both programs were members of the Big East.
