The Vanderbilt Commodores shockingly lead the Virginia Tech Hokies 17-3 at halftime.
Vandy took the opening kickoff, and quarterback Diego Pavia used his legs to create problems for the VT defense. The Hokies had the Commodores in a 3rd-and-13 when Pavia found wide receiver Quincy Skinner for a 31-yard completion to keep the drive alive.
Fortunately, Tech’s defense would slow Vandy down and force a field goal.
Hokies quarterback Kyron Drones took the field, and the offensive approach appeared slightly conservative on their first drive. Then Drones was intercepted as he looked for Jaylin Lane on a screen.
