BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a novel means to use a fundamental model of the parts of the brain that are dysfunctional in Parkinson's disease, and related movement disorders, as part of a feedback control system to modulate the signs and symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
Envisioning feedback modulation of neural circuitry is not new in treating diseases of the brain, but all prior art has relied upon empirical methods of signal processing the data that is sensed from recording methods such as electrodes or other sensors.
